REACH
Reach is the new EU regulatory system for Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemical Substances. It is applicable to chemical substances manufactured or imported in the EU. Manufacturers, importers and downstream users have to deal with Reach.
Umicore is preparing for the implementation of Reach and is involved in setting up Industry Consortia for the implementation of Reach. We work together with associations such as Cobalt Development Institute (www.thecdi.com), European Nickel Industry Association (www.enia.org), Eurometaux (www.eurometaux.org) and others.
An important element in preparation for Reach is the relation between supplier and customer. Umicore is committed to give the necessary support to suppliers and customers during Reach preparation and implementation.
