Li-ion battery materials

Extensive R&D and continuous collaboration with our customers have resulted in the CellCore^® family of cathode materials for Li-ion batteries.

Umicore's world-class lithium cobalt dioxide, produced in South Korea, is well suited for Li-ion batteries used in applications such as cellular phones, laptop computers, digital cameras and PDA's. For the most demanding battery performance Umicore provides the superior K-grade quality.

Many new Li-ion battery applications require higher energy density and enhanced safety. We developed our CellCore^® product group to answer these needs.

The nickel cobalt manganese based cathode material combines very good electrochemical properties with an attractive cost, opening the door to battery applications for use in hybrid electric vehicles and e-bikes.
